FAC members invited to tutor sessions on palliative and supportive care at the ESO 2006 masterclass

The European School of Oncology masterclass is a full week residential course with an international faculty of experts delivering multidisciplinary lectures focusing on lung, breast, colorectal, prostate, gynaecological, head and neck cancers and lymphomas. This clinically oriented course is similar to the Flims course (which naturally deals with trial design), in that the whole costs are sponsored (except travel), and that intense exchange with faculty is provided. For more details please check www.cancerworld.org  or contact masterclass@esoncology.org

FAC members are particularly invited to apply for the masterclass as participants. FAC will sponsor 6 travel grants of 500 Euro each for young oncologists from European countries with a low GDP as defined by the World Bank.

FAC members with an interest in palliative or supportive care are offered the opportunity to participate in the meeting as tutors of group workshops on palliative and supportive care respectively. For further details, please contact Razvan Popescu, FAC President.

FAC members encouraged to publish their research in European Journals

The following invitation has been extended to FAC members: “The Editors of the EJC invite you to consider the European Journal of Cancer for your next publication. A journal for multi-disciplinary cancer research, the EJC is the official publication of FECS. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2004, and with an ISI Impact Factor of 3.694 (increasing for the third successive year), the EJC welcomes your clinical research for publication. Please visit http://authors.elsevier.com/journal/ejca for more information.”

Similarly, ‘Annals of Oncology’, ‘Radiotherapy and Oncology’, ESJO would welcome publications from FAC members – please look up the websites of your discipline-based member society for further details.
